It's really frustrating watching a team where the individual players on offense play well, but when they need to play as a team they can't do crap. Something big needs to happen to get these players off their asses and realize that they are in the major leagues. I think there is something wrong in David Wrights head. I mean, he acted like a little baby when Mike Francessa said that he can't hit in the clutch and night in and night out he has every chance to redeem himself and all he does is ground out, pop out, fly out, strike out, or hit into the double play. The rotation needs to be scared straight, Johan can't carry this team, especially when they only score 1 damn run for him!

Mets vs Reds game 2 post game

Well, a win is a win. This game was a battle through and through. I love the start Delgado is off to. Personally i think that if he can be consistent the offense will flow nicely. Delgado is such a force in the middle of the line up and the team feeds off of him for sure. Big Pelf started out slow. He was a little sloppy and got beat, plain and simple. I really liked how he rebounded and put up four innings of zeros. He fixed the problem and thats very encouraging to see. The pen gave us a bit of a scare and brought us back to feeling like we were watching a game from last season. K-Rod obviously did not have his stuff tonight. He was a little wild, and looked like he was trying to throw too hard at times but he never gave up, and thats the difference between this years pen and last years. K-rod came undone a little but he never gave up and thats really why the Mets won this game.
The game ball goes to... K-rod for not giving up when the walls were crumbling around him.
Citi Field, First game
Well, finally getting a chance to update. Going to the first game ever in Citi Field was quite an experience i must say. Obviously most people were more interested in the ballpark than the game, but that was expected i think. The place is beautiful, plain and simple. It really feels cozy without feeling cramped. One complaint that many people have made is that, the park does not really have a mets feel. There is defiantly not enough mets stuff around the park. Between the green seats and the Citi signs everywhere, it's hard to feel a Mets vibe. Anyway, check out these pictures of the park and the game. I sat in the second to last row in section 520. Thats the promenade level (upper deck).
Getting that first win under our belt was a great boost for team moral. The game felt scripted with Johan pitching beautifully regardless of the weather, Sean Green getting it done, giving some fans a reason to forget Heilman as soon as possible. JJ throwing some wicked pitches knocking hitters on their asses and finally K-rod getting it done in pure closer fashion. Obviously, the offense was sleeping the whole game, aside from Murph, the team fell asleep with their bats on their shoulders. Tonight hopefully we can see some high power offense to give Pelfrey some support. I really think jerry will have a hard time getting Sheffield into the lineup because i really think Church is going to break his ass this year to show everyone he's the man for the job. I wouldn't mind seeing Sheff get a pinch hit opportunity tonight, im curious to see if he means business or if he's just along for the ride.
Anyway, lets enjoy the game tonight and ill be sure to write up a post game report.
LETS GO METS!

Out of hibernation...
Sorry for the pause in postings, i know all you faithful readers were worried (sarcasm). Anyway, i just didn't think there was much to write about. This has been the longest spring ever it feels like and i am very much ready for it to come to an end. Ill be going to the Mets Boston game at Citi Field on friday. Personally i view it as the first major league game ever played at the new park, even if it is an exhibition game. I am going to try and do a live blog thing from my phone but i might get frustrated and just do it on twitter, so be sure to check out the sites twitter page on the right column. Ill be sure to take a bunch of videos on my camera to upload onto the blog. Check out the twitter page for more updates and ill be back on friday.

WBC, Santana, A-Rod...
The WBC starts tomorrow morning at 4:00am with Japan taking on Korea. Im personally a fan of the WBC, i think its a lot of fun and i like seeing star players that i have never heard of before.
If Johan says he's starting the opener, he's starting the opener. You don't mess with the Johan...
A-Rod says he wishes Reyes was on his team. Everyone freaks out whenever A-Rod says anything. It's annoying. No matter what he says, he loves the attention that all this crap is brining him. He can't really be stupid enough to be seen getting in to the car with the infamous cousin. He does it on purpose because hes a media whore.
Can't wait for the regular season to start. Im trying to catch the games that are televised on SNY but haven't had the time. For sure, ill be updating much more frequently as we get closer to the season, but for now, i don't have too much to say. I have a strange feeling that this season is going to be wild. Im not sure if it's a good or bad feeling, but i think some crazy stuff will go down this year. Stay tuned everyone.

Johan
Finally got a new post up here. Let me just say, im not too concerned with Johan. First of all, hes a warrior he's not some fragile pretty boy. Ed Coleman is on with Adam the bull right now and he doesn't seem to bothered by the whole thing. Everyone needs to understand that this is the very beginning of spring training, this isn't a week from opening day so everyone calm down, take a breath, and just relax. As i said before, contrary to the pessimistic reports, im not too concerned.
Anyway, there is a game today! ill try and do some posts during or after the game so everyone stay tuned...

30 Clubs in 30 Days- Mets

So far this show is excellent. This show is just solidifying my love for the MLBN. I really like how they're not making the mets out to be a terrible, horrible, bottom of the barrel team of scrubs like ESPN does (cough cough...Kruk...Steve Philips..cough) Anyway, ill update as i see things i like...
...Love the profile on the rotation, had great stuff to say about everyone...
...Excelent interview with Omar, they asked a lot of good questions that i have not heard asked to him before. Next is a montage of the greatest moments in mets history. I always love a nice highlight reel of mets moments....
...Great montage, ill never forget the image of Endy leaping to grab that ball, and i love the clip of Benny hitting that bomb...
Overall a very strong show. Like i said yesterday i usually don't enjoy these kinds of shows. Most of the time they are so generic and boring. This was a great analysis of the 2009 mets focusing on 2009 and not the past 2 years like every other media outlet seems to do. I have to say that im so glad that Harold Reynolds has a job again. I loved him on SNY and i love him on the MLBN. In my opinion hes one of the best in the business and its a shame what happened to him at ESPN. Anyway, great show, ill be looking forward to the MLB Tonight shows during the season, I will be switching my allegiance from Baseball Tonight to MLB Tonight for sure.

Mets on MLBN

Tomorrow night at 11pm the MLB Network will air the Mets turn in "30 Clubs in 30 Days". Some interviews and ect. with some special stuff about the opening of Citi Field.
...Usually these kind of specials don't get me too excited, but the MLBN is such a fantastic network im actually looking forward to it. If you haven't had a chance to check out the MLBN I suggest it, its by far the best channel for baseball goods. I'll post a reaction to the show afterwards...
Daniel Murphy Named Starter

Good news comes out of Mets camp yesterday, Snoop Manuel told everyone that Daniel Murphy will get the bulk of the playing time in left this year leaving Fernando Tatis to apparently compete with Ryan Church for the right field spot.
... Personally i like this move by Jerry. I think that giving murphy the job this early will give him a lot of confidence in his game and we know how much of a workhorse he already is. However, Im not sure that having Tatis compete with Church is the best move. When church is on, he's a beast and he can be one of our most dangerous players, but i really think that we have seen the best of Fernando's ability, especially in the outfield. If anything Church is a much better defender and provides more security in right. Tatis should be used as backup for Murphy and also be used as a 3rd or 1st base backup. Obviously he is a nice bat off the bench as well...
